Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Announces 10 Candidates for Grade 5 General Staff Promotion
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 18th the confirmation of 10 candidates for promotion to Grade 5 general civil servants in 2021.
All 10 promotion candidates are in educational administration, and they underwent a preliminary public verification process through the website.
They were finally selected by combining competency evaluation through document screening and role-playing (40%), job performance evaluation on tasks carried out during their tenure as Grade 7 or Grade 6 employees (20%), multi-faceted evaluation (integrity and personality) by colleagues who worked with them for more than six months (10%), and promotion candidate list scores (30%).
In particular, as one of the core competencies, evaluation indicators such as ▲change orientation ▲problem-solving ▲work creativity were added to verify flexibility and responsiveness to future educational environment changes such as With-Corona and the 4th Industrial Revolution.
The screening results selected fewer candidates compared to 17 last year, and the competition rate relatively increased from 2.8:1 to 3.4:1. Also, it was found that candidates who were evenly distributed in the top ranks in competency evaluation, job performance, and promotion candidate list evaluation areas had higher pass rates.
Kim Chun-ho, Director of the Administration Bureau, said, “An innovative mindset among general civil servants is extremely important to achieve continuous innovation in Jeonnam education.” He added, “We expect the selected talents to lead the era of major transformation in school education in the upcoming future society proactively, responding actively to changes with flexible thinking and attitudes.”
