Hyundai Engineering announced on the 13th that it held non-face-to-face agreement ceremonies both locally in Indonesia and domestically to officially promote this project.
This project is part of Hyundai Engineering's representative overseas social contribution activity, "New Hope School No. 11." It is significant in that it expands the scope from physical support such as new construction, expansion, and renovation of educational facilities to supporting the establishment of practical and sustainable e-learning educational infrastructure locally.
In particular, with the recent COVID-19 situation prompting the Indonesian government to introduce e-learning education nationwide, Indonesian government agencies such as the Balikpapan Education and Culture Office and the Regional Development Planning Agency have actively cooperated from the preliminary survey stage of "New Hope School No. 11," enabling the provision of a more systematic and localized e-learning educational infrastructure to over 7,800 local students, residents, teachers, and parents.
First, Hyundai Engineering plans to prepare a systematic teacher training program on educational methods using ICT (Information and Communication Technology) for 150 local teachers and support the development of e-learning program content tailored to the local curriculum for two subjects: language and mathematics.
Additionally, a teacher committee consisting of 15 teachers per region will be formed to share know-how on independent e-learning content development and educational methods using ICT, focusing on improving the quality of education provided to students.
Along with this, five schools in the Balikpapan area will be remodeled to create e-learning dedicated classrooms equipped with advanced educational devices such as tablets and laptops to facilitate smooth e-learning education.
To increase accessibility to e-learning educational infrastructure for local residents including students, three community e-learning centers will be established, allowing children, parents, and residents in the area to freely visit the centers and use online devices.
Parent committees and teacher committees will be formed in each region to actively participate in the development of e-learning education programs and the maintenance and management of community e-learning centers. Special e-learning-based family activities such as psychological and emotional support and basic literacy education will also be prepared to improve awareness of the e-learning education system within the local community.
Considering that power supply for electronic devices is also an important factor in e-learning educational infrastructure, an eco-friendly solar charging system will be applied to the community e-learning centers.
