Chinese State Media Threatens Taiwan Leadership by Mentioning 'Use of Force'
Four-Stage Military Unification: Lockdown, Military Facility Strikes, Surrounding Island Attacks, and Landing
Emphasizing the Need to Show the Power, Determination, and Military Strength of the Chinese People
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Jo Young-shin] China's state-run Global Times harshly criticized Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen and the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) on the 13th, saying separatists facing their end are showing a 'last frenzy,' and strongly condemned the Taiwan leadership. The media also threatened that Taiwan could be forcibly unified through stages such as blockade, strikes on military facilities, attacks on surrounding islands, and landing operations.
Following news of a recent visit to the United States by Taiwanese Army Commander General Hsu Yen-pu, the term "force" appears to have been used to pressure the Taiwan leadership.
The media pointed out that separatists are making provocative remarks and actions, including requesting support from the United States to hinder national reunification, emphasizing that the power, determination, and especially the military strength of the mainland (China) people are essential to resolve the Taiwan issue.
Professor Zhang Yuansheng of Xiamen University warned, "The anger of the mainland has reached its highest level due to the words and actions of Taiwan separatists and the United States," adding, "The mainland can use both peace and force simultaneously for reunification."
Chinese military expert Wei Dongxu threatened, "Although the Taiwan military has asymmetric warfare capabilities, the quality of Taiwan's weapons and equipment is inferior to that of the mainland," and "The mainland will conduct long-range precision strikes on Taiwan's military weapons such as aircraft, missiles, and warships."
The Global Times stated that if the mainland decides to use force against Taiwan, electronic warfare will begin first. It explained that Taiwan's military radar and other sensory systems will be blinded, followed by the destruction of major military facilities in Taiwan with long-range precision missiles. Subsequently, landing forces will enter Taiwan and secure the island. During this process, stealth fighters and aircraft carriers will prevent foreign intervention (such as from the United States and Western allies) in the air and at sea.
The Global Times emphasized that everyone senses the possibility of an accidental war outbreak, and since the mainland's principle of national reunification is firm, there is absolutely no room for compromise between independence and reunification.

Shao Zhonghai, a former Taiwanese politician and Kuomintang member, stated, "President Tsai's mention of establishing formal diplomatic relations with the United States means there is no intention to peacefully resolve cross-strait relations," and argued, "The mainland should consider firmly resolving the Taiwan issue by force to protect national sovereignty."
