[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Posco Gwangyang Steelworks Home Organization Talent Volunteer Group (Leader Yang Seong-mo) announced on the 13th that they visited a neighboring household in need of organization help on the 11th to create a pleasant living environment.
The Home Organization Volunteer Group, newly established in April this year as a talent volunteer group of Gwangyang Steelworks, supports the healthy lives of nearby neighbors by helping households in need with organization, securing living space, and creating a pleasant living environment.
The Home Organization Talent Volunteer Group decided to visit a household after hearing from the Jungma Disabled Welfare Center about a neighbor who was having difficulty organizing their living environment due to being unable to clean alone.
Employees of Gwangyang Steelworks and their families headed to Bonggang-myeon, Gwangyang City, early in the morning even on their day off. They worked up a sweat cleaning every corner inside and outside the house, from the bathroom to the yard, inside the house, and the kitchen, on behalf of the neighbor who had difficulty cleaning alone.
In particular, the members, who completed professional training for responsible volunteer activities, spent 8 hours not only striving to create a clean and pleasant living environment but also checking on the neighbor’s well-being and keeping them company, providing emotional healing to a neighbor exhausted by the recent COVID-19 pandemic, making the time even more meaningful.
To prevent group infections of COVID-19 during the volunteer activity, the participating members and employees’ families paid special attention to personal hygiene, including temperature checks, wearing masks, and hand sanitization.
Yang Seong-mo, the leader of the volunteer group, said, “I am grateful to the members who have participated in the seventh organization volunteer activity since the group was newly established in April this year,” and added, “Most neighbors with physical difficulties often have poor living environments, so we will continue to visit nearby neighbors and strive for their healthy and pleasant lives.”
