[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] On the 8th, COVID-19 confirmed cases surged across the country.
According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, from midnight to 6 p.m. on the same day, the total number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases nationwide was counted at 1,465. This is 32 fewer than the 1,497 cases reported during the same time the previous day.
By region, there were 552 cases in Seoul, 412 in Gyeonggi, 114 in Incheon, 71 in Gyeongnam, 59 in Chungbuk, 48 in Daegu, 39 in Gyeongbuk, 32 in Chungnam, 27 in Busan, 26 in Jeju, 23 in Gangwon, 20 in Daejeon, 13 in Gwangju, 12 in Jeonbuk, 11 in Jeonnam, and 6 in Ulsan.
Among the 17 metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide, confirmed cases were reported in all regions except Sejong.
