Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, 2021 Second Half New Employee Open Recruitment
From This Recruitment Onward, Written Subjects Changed and Korean History Proficiency Test Level 3 or Higher Required
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik) announced on the 8th that it will publicly recruit 3 regular employees (3 new hires) in the second half of the year.
This recruitment is jointly conducted by two port authorities, YGPA and BPA. Applicants can apply to only one port authority and duplicate applications are not allowed.
For new employees (Grade 7 (A)), a total of 3 people will be selected: 2 office workers (including 1 employment support target) and 1 civil engineering position.
The authority will adhere to a fair and transparent recruitment process and conduct recruitment based on job competency using the same NCS (National Competency Standards)-based blind recruitment method as before.
Starting from this second half recruitment, to expand opportunities for outstanding talents, the existing written test subjects of Port Act, Port Authority Act, Logistics, and Korean History will be abolished. Instead, Korean History will be replaced by holding a Korean History Proficiency Test certificate of level 3 or higher. Office positions will take tests in Principles of Management and Principles of Economics, while technical positions will only take the civil engineering field test.
Additionally, to expand socially equitable recruitment, one employment support target will be hired through a separate screening process, and extra points will be given to North Korean defectors and multicultural families in all recruitment fields to increase employment opportunities for vulnerable groups.
Furthermore, to promote gender equality from the recruitment process, more than 50% of external interviewers appointed will be female.
The recruitment schedule is as follows. The authority plans to announce the final successful candidates on December 3 after ▲application submission (October 19 to October 25) ▲written test (November 13) ▲interview test (November 25).
