Jeonju City Selected as Finalist in Public Procurement Service's '2021 2nd Innovative Product Pilot Purchase Project'
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] A coating agent that reduces fine dust and alleviates the heat island effect will be applied to the surface of the pavement blocks in Jeonju Hanok Village.
On the 8th, Jeonju City announced that it was finally selected for the ‘Antibacterial and Fine Dust Removal Surface Reinforcement Material (Kaihard) Pilot Project’ among the ‘2021 2nd Innovative Product Pilot Purchase Project’ led by the Public Procurement Service.
The Public Procurement Service’s Innovative Product Pilot Purchase Project is a program in which demand institutions selected as pilot users receive innovative products from small and medium-sized enterprises funded by the Public Procurement Service budget for trial use.
With this selection, Jeonju City will receive surface reinforcement material (product name Kaihard) worth 380 million KRW free of charge.
Accordingly, Jeonju City plans to apply the received Kaihard to 15,000㎡ of concrete pavement blocks and permeable blocks surfaces within Hanok Village by the end of next month.
Through this, the city expects to contribute to lowering the road surface temperature in Hanok Village by 2.9℃ and reducing fine dust by 3.4 kg per 1,000㎡ annually.
It is also expected to help manage the health of citizens and tourists by enhancing antibacterial performance.
