MS Acquires Enterprise Performance Measurement Software Startup 'Alli'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Microsoft (MS) has acquired the enterprise performance measurement software startup 'Ally.io'.
According to CNBC on the 7th (local time), MS announced that it acquired Ally, a software developer that tracks the achievement rates of an organization's key objectives. However, specific deal terms, including the transaction amount, were not disclosed.
Ally is characterized by its performance management method based on Objectives and Key Results (OKR), which quantitatively sets goals and evaluates their progress.
OKR was devised by former Intel chairman Andy Grove and later adopted by Google, spreading throughout Silicon Valley.
Ally's software is scheduled to be integrated into MS's 'Viva software,' announced in February this year. According to MS, Viva allows employees to access encyclopedias, learning materials, and more, automatically generated from various company documents.
The company stated that over the next year, it will bring Ally to the MS cloud and invest in integrating it with 'Teams,' a collaboration tool that supports chat, video conferencing, and document storage.
