Since 2019, NH Investment & Securities has been conducting a project to support electric ranges (induction cooktops) for rural village communities (village halls, senior centers) nationwide in collaboration with the NongHyup Foundation. Every year, it supports village communities with approximately 300 million KRW worth of equipment. In the first half of this year, 230 units were provided to Boeun County in Chungbuk and Uiseong County in Gyeongbuk, and in the second half, 195 units were supplied to Muju County in Jeonbuk and Sangcheong County in Gyeongsangnam-do. NH Investment & Securities will conclude this year’s support project by delivering a total of 425 induction cooktops to four counties. Previously, in 2019, 413 units and in 2020, 425 units were provided, totaling 838 electric ranges to eight counties.
NH Investment & Securities’ induction support is a social contribution project that replaces LPG gas ranges with electric induction cooktops to prevent safety accidents in rural areas at the myeon and ri levels where LPG use is frequent. The selection of support areas for this project is prioritized by applying weights based on population statistics from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, reflecting factors such as the aging rate, the proportion of elderly living alone, absolute population numbers, and population decline trends.
