Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju 'Hanam 3 District Resident Complex Facility' Groundbreaking Ceremony
Target Completion in February 2023... Expected Improvement in Residents' Quality of Life and Convenience
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangsan District, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Samho) announced on the 7th that it will begin construction of the 'Hanam 3 District Resident Complex Facility,' which will serve as a hub for happy urban spaces.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Hanam 3 District Resident Support Project will be held on the morning of the 8th at the new site of the Heukseok-dong Resident Complex Facility.
This project involves creating a resident complex facility, living sports facilities, a village hall, and parking lots as desired by the residents.
The Gwangsan District is promoting the project after receiving support of 44.3 billion KRW from the remaining proceeds of the sale of land surplus generated during Gwangju City's urban development projects, following a resident demand survey.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be attended by Kim Samho, Mayor of Gwangsan District, city and district council members, members of the Hanam 3 District Resident Council, and local residents, proceeding in the order of project progress report, congratulatory speeches, and a blasting ceremony.
The resident complex facility will be built with a budget of 14.4 billion KRW, covering a total floor area of 4,586㎡, with 1 to 3 floors above ground.
Scheduled for completion in February 2023, it will include a drive-through clinic and vaccination room related to infectious diseases such as COVID-19, office spaces, resident community spaces, and a volunteer center.
In a situation where the expansion of living infrastructure lagged behind the rapid urban growth, the creation of a resident complex facility integrating medical, cultural, and welfare services is expected to improve residents' convenience and quality of life.
Previously, in response to local residents' demands, the district completed one bus parking lot, twelve off-street parking lots with 193 spaces, two parking-only buildings with 315 spaces, and twelve village halls. Following the resident complex facility, construction of a village sharing center and living sports facilities is also planned to start within this year.
