[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Kyochon Chicken announced on the 7th that its cumulative number of members surpassed 2 million just 8 months after renewing its proprietary ordering app.
In February, Kyochon Chicken revamped its proprietary ordering app to enhance customer convenience and strengthen its membership system. The app's membership, which was previously 350,000, increased approximately sixfold to 2 million in the 8 months following the renewal. About 1.65 million new members joined after the renewal.
Kyochon Chicken improved customer convenience by adopting Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud to provide fast and stable app service. Additionally, the user interface (UI) was significantly enhanced with a personalized home screen and intuitive interface to make ordering and membership usage easier.
Mobile gift card usage also became more convenient. Features such as image loading and barcode recognition enabled easy registration and ordering.

By applying a membership tier system, differentiated benefits were offered to loyal customers of the ordering app. Members are divided into three tiers?‘Welcome,’ ‘VIP,’ and ‘KING’?based on purchase frequency, with tier-based point accumulation and event coupons provided. Points, which were previously only usable during events, are now directly deducted from the payment amount at the time of purchase.
