6 National and Public Childcare Centers Receive Praise for Creating Comfortable and Safe Living Environments for Infants and Toddlers
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that it has completed the Green Remodeling Project for six national and public daycare centers.
The "Green Remodeling Project for Public Buildings" is part of the Korean New Deal initiative, led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. It provides funding to improve energy efficiency and performance to a certain level in aging national and public daycare centers, health centers, and medical facilities.
In the case of Jinju City, six national and public daycare centers, including Hadae Daycare Center, were selected in last year's Green Remodeling contest. The city secured a total project budget of 1.235 billion KRW, including 976 million KRW from national and provincial funds. After conducting detailed design services, construction began in April this year, and the remodeling project was recently completed.
Through this project, asbestos removal inside the aging daycare centers, insulation work on interior and exterior walls and windows, and replacement of high-efficiency heating and cooling systems were carried out, enabling children to live in a safer and much more comfortable environment.
Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il said, "I am pleased that we can provide children with a safer and more comfortable childcare environment," and added, "We will continue to devote more attention and effort to making Jinju a better place to raise children and a city where children are happy."
