Ate1 Supplies Metaverse Platform 'Moim' to Kwangwoon University
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Eightone recently announced on the 6th that it has signed a contract to supply a metaverse platform used for a total of 43 virtual campus lectures, including Construction Management Introduction, American Politics, Hip-hop Producing, and Immersive Media Theory, targeting Kwangwoon University.
The supplied platform is ‘MOIM,’ a metaverse platform independently developed by Grid, a 100% subsidiary of Eightone. It is known that Kwangwoon University has started virtual campus lectures using ‘MOIM’ from the second semester.
‘MOIM,’ independently developed by Grid, is a metaverse platform specialized in non-face-to-face conference functions such as education, meetings, and forums in an online virtual space. The ‘MOIM’ platform, currently undergoing beta testing, can be applied to various virtual cultural industry sectors such as university virtual campuses, exhibitions, screenings, and viewings. The company plans to evolve the ‘MOIM’ platform into an open platform by increasing various user experience elements in the metaverse field within the platform, which is scheduled for full open beta service later this month.
Choi Cheolsun, CEO of Eightone, said, “Through platform supply targeting Kwangwoon University, which is strengthening its university innovation projects, we plan to further enhance the specialization of practical application elements and strive to build a more diverse platform supply network through smooth linkage and exchange.” He added, “The metaverse platform ‘MOIM’ goes beyond the commonly known simple communication lecture functions and is a virtual reality specialized platform that can encompass extended reality (XR) platform functions such as support for virtual practice functions. It will be differentiated based on specialized quality and technology compared to existing services.”
