[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Hansol Paper announced on the 5th that it has signed an 'Agreement for the Development of Eco-friendly Packaging to Strengthen ESG' with meal kit specialist company MyChef.
The signing ceremony held at MyChef headquarters was attended by Hansol Paper CEO Han Cheol-gyu and MyChef CEO Lim Jong-eok, among others. The main content of the agreement is to apply Hansol Paper's eco-friendly packaging to MyChef meal kits, replacing existing plastic and vinyl packaging materials.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to continue close cooperation, including joint research and development of eco-friendly packaging for meal kits, aiming to achieve 'plastic zero.'
First, within this year, the packaging containers for the three best-selling products at MyChef will be switched to Hansol Paper's PE Free paper container 'Terravas,' with gradual expansion and phased transition planned by 2023.
Additionally, after testing the application of the eco-friendly paper pouch packaging 'Protego' for food ingredients, they plan to replace existing vinyl packaging materials with eco-friendly materials by 2025. Furthermore, they intend to expand the scope of product application to minimize and eco-friendlize packaging.
Terravas and Protego are eco-friendly products developed with Hansol Paper's proprietary technology, characterized by excellent oil resistance, water resistance, and high barrier properties, respectively. Both products allow for paper-type separate disposal, facilitating recycling, and also feature biodegradability as a strength.
