View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS Supermarket announced on the 5th that it will start selling freshly harvested raw oysters for sashimi from the 6th of this month.
Fresh oysters are generally distributed and sold after the first harvest ceremony (a ritual praying for a bountiful harvest and safety) is held in the production area around mid-October. GS Supermarket collaborated with its partners to conduct preliminary safety inspections, shortening the preparation period to be the first to sell fresh and safe raw oysters.
The oysters being shipped this time are medium-sized, perfect for one bite and ideal for sashimi. In November this year, GS Supermarket plans to focus on handling small oysters in line with the kimchi-making season. To celebrate the first shipment, GS Supermarket will sell 250g bags of oysters at a discounted price when paid with event cards until the 12th.
