Emart X Naver Win-Win Collaboration 'Local Specialty Challenge' Announces 34 Candidate Products
Final Product Selection as 'Life-Changing Restaurant' Through Customer Reviews and Sales Volume
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Emart announced on the 4th that it will reveal the candidate products for the small business win-win project "Local Specialty Challenge," conducted in collaboration with Naver, to consumers through a special exhibition and shopping live broadcast until the 10th.
This project aims to brand the products of outstanding local small business owners as "Life's Best Restaurants," and the final selected products will be sold nationwide at Emart stores and through Naver's upcoming "Emart Online Grocery Shopping Service" scheduled for the second half of this year.
Previously, Emart accepted applications for participation in the Local Specialty Challenge from local small business owners selling products on Naver Food Window for two weeks starting July 19. As a result, about 340 products from approximately 160 sellers participated. Emart and Naver selected 34 products from 22 sellers as second-round candidates after reviewing product reviews and ratings, and conducting one-on-one consultations and evaluations between Emart Peacock buyers and sellers.
In the special exhibition titled "Naver X Emart Local Specialty Challenge Second Evaluation," these 34 products are offered at discounts of up to 40%.
The Local Specialty Challenge shopping live broadcast will be held for about 90 minutes from 6 PM on the 6th and 7th. On the 6th, 16 various dishes will be introduced, and on the 7th, 18 types of meat and desserts will be showcased. In addition to the show host, an Emart Peacock product development expert with a chef background will appear to explain the products.
The final selection of products to be developed as Life's Best Restaurants will be conducted together with customers by comprehensively reflecting evaluations by Emart chefs, sales volume during the special exhibition and shopping live broadcast, product ratings, and reviews. Emart and Naver plan to hold events at Emart deli stores or develop the final selected products under the Peacock brand and introduce them sequentially.
Choi Hyun, head of Emart Peacock, said, "It is meaningful that through this first collaborative project utilizing the capabilities of both Emart and Naver, we can coexist and prosper with small business owners."
