China: "'Taiwan Independence' Is Just Barking Noise"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] China criticized Taiwan's Foreign Minister by comparing him to a 'fly.' In response, the Taiwanese government strongly protested.
The spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council reportedly pointed out that Wu Zhaoxie, Taiwan's Foreign Minister, is a "Taiwan independence activist" who is crazily making "Taiwan independence" remarks, according to the overseas edition of the People's Daily on the 1st.
The spokesperson warned Minister Wu, saying, "In the face of the historical trend of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and national reunification, the 'Taiwan independence' forces are locusts after the harvest, and the 'Taiwan independence' remarks are like flies buzzing and sobbing." The expression that flies buzz and sob is a quote from Mao Zedong's 1963 poem "Man Jiang Hong," which criticized the Soviet Union and the United States.
China, which considers Taiwan part of its territory, is intensifying military and political pressure on Taiwan.
