According to the county on the 1st, various programs such as rehabilitation exercise classes and home visit rehabilitation services are being operated to help people with disabilities live happily as members of the local community, thereby eliminating welfare blind spots and realizing a vibrant and happy Muan created together with the residents.
The public health center operated a rehabilitation program linked with Muan Jaripwon from April to June to provide systematic and integrated service support for registered disabled persons' rehabilitation exercise classes.
For nine weeks, once a week, basic health status was checked through tests and consultations targeting patients with brain lesions and those with physical and intellectual disabilities, and rehabilitation exercise classes were held, receiving great responses from participants.
In October, the health promotion-type health branch office’s visiting rehabilitation team plans to operate a whole-body stimulation exercise program using customized exercises and small tools according to the type and condition of disabilities, helping people with disabilities form exercise habits and improve their self-health management abilities.
People with disabilities experience a lot of stress due to physical limitations and lack of social support, and recently, depression has increased due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, the county plans to operate the “Mind Toktok Companion Plant Health Nareumi” program from October to November, distributing companion plants by visiting the homes of registered disabled persons undergoing rehabilitation.
It is expected that people with disabilities will be able to relieve depression caused by physical disabilities and enhance their rehabilitation will by watching their companion plants grow day by day.
In addition, the county conducts a visiting health Nareumi rehabilitation home visit service for people with disabilities who have difficulty moving freely due to immobility or inconvenience throughout the year.
This service is provided by professional physical therapists who visit each home to fulfill the rehabilitation needs of homebound disabled persons through basic health checkups, education on self-rehabilitation exercise methods, posture correction, and joint and muscle exercises.
Such various rehabilitation exercise class programs and visiting services that help people with disabilities perform their roles as healthy members of society have received great responses from participants, and the county plans to discover additional programs that can provide practical help to disabled persons experiencing psychological difficulties, serving as a strong mental support.
