SBC explained that Chairman Kim's trip to the U.S. was meaningful in that it laid the foundation for a regional industry revitalization model through direct cooperation with U.S. state governments. First, SBC signed MOUs with Maryland, which is focusing investments on new business sectors such as ICT and bio, Snohomish County, Arlington City, and Marysville City, which are emerging as North American manufacturing innovation hubs, enabling active support from local governments for promising domestic SMEs discovered by SBC.
In addition, he appeared on MBC America Home Shopping to directly introduce 12 excellent domestic products related to K-Hallyu to U.S. consumers, and these products are scheduled to be sold over three weeks. Through the broadcast appearance, not only was the excellence of domestic SME products promoted, but practical sales channels were also secured by opening an SBC exclusive section within the online shopping mall (ODK Mall).
Furthermore, a networking day was held with five domestic companies wishing to enter the U.S. procurement market, including members of the Government Contracting Association (GCA), supporting entry into the procurement market through direct mentoring. Together with local U.S. organizations (WTIA, Washington Technology Industry Association), a panel discussion was also held on effective U.S. market entry strategies for Korean AI startups.
