"Get Out of the Company if You Don't Get Vaccinated" United Airlines Begins Firing Over 600 Employees
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] United Airlines, a leading American airline, has begun the process of mass terminating employees who have not received the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to local media on the 29th, Scott Kirby, CEO of United Airlines, and Brett Hart, Chairman, sent a message to employees stating, "It was an incredibly difficult decision, but protecting the safety of our team is our top priority," and announced the start of the process to terminate contracts with 593 employees who did not submit proof of vaccination.
United Airlines was the first U.S. airline to mandate vaccination for all domestic flight employees early last month and required submission of vaccination proof by the 27th of this month.
The company explained that among the 593 employees who have not yet submitted proof, those who get vaccinated before the termination process is completed can retain their positions.

So far, the company stated that over 99% of United Airlines' 67,000 employees in the U.S. have been vaccinated, and less than 3% have applied for vaccine exemptions.
