One Can for 1,000 Won at Homeplus and Homeplus Express Until October 27
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Homeplus announced on the 28th that it will sell the carbonated beer 'Santa Maria,' directly imported from Spain.
This product is a lager-style carbonated beer made by Font Salem, one of Spain's largest beer manufacturers. It is characterized by capturing the refreshing essence of Santa Maria, a small beach town on Spain's east coast. To celebrate the product launch, it will be sold for 1,000 won per can (500ml) until October 27.
Carbonated beer is a beverage with a malt content ratio of less than 10%, classified as other alcoholic beverages rather than beer under the liquor tax law. Accordingly, it is excluded from the volume-based tax applied to beer. Although its taste is hard to distinguish from beer, it is cheaper, and the related market has been rapidly growing recently.
Santa Maria, introduced by Homeplus, is brewed in the lager style from Europe, the birthplace of beer, offering a cool and refreshing taste. It provides a rich body and a light fruity aroma. It is sold at Homeplus and Homeplus Express stores nationwide.
Homeplus stated, "As the liquor market continues to grow, we plan to introduce additional directly imported carbonated beers," adding, "We will continue to offer a variety of alcoholic beverage products."
