LG Uplus Collaborates with Leading Parking Lot Operator for Mobility Business Partnership

Humax Mobility is a mobility platform specialist company focusing on car sharing (Carplat, People Car) and parking lot operations (Hi Parking). Hi Parking accounts for more than half of the domestic parking lot operation business. Humax Mobility is expanding its business around parking services, which are the hub of mobility services, to related services such as car sharing, electric vehicle charging, parking facilities, parking equipment, and parking information, as well as additional services within buildings such as shared kitchens and AI recycling resource collection robots.
LG Uplus will provide mobile communication services such as 5G and LTE to Humax Mobility’s car sharing vehicles and strengthen cooperation by expanding smart city demonstration projects. The two companies plan to jointly explore business opportunities through cooperation, such as providing Humax Mobility’s parking lots, car sharing, and kickboard services to LG Uplus customers. Additionally, LG Uplus plans to solidify the partnership by making equity investments in Humax Mobility.
Hwang Hyun-sik, CEO of LG Uplus, said, “Through the partnership with Humax Mobility, we will use this as a stepping stone to expand 5G-related business opportunities into the mobility sector and strive to discover new growth engines.”
