Gwangju Metropolitan City announced the 'COVID-19 Occurrence Status' as of 2 p.m. on the same day.
Among them, three cases related to foreigners located in Gwangsan-gu, numbered 4806, 4808, and 4809, were confirmed.
There were a total of three cases related to previously confirmed patients: number 4807, currently in isolation, was infected after contact with number 4629, and numbers 4810 and 4811 were infected after contact with number 4551.
In particular, the index patient (4551) was first confirmed positive on the 16th, and transmission has been occurring mainly among acquaintances around number 4727 and others who had contact with this patient.
Two people were infected after contact with confirmed cases from other cities and provinces, including Jeonbuk and Ansan in Gyeonggi-do.
One additional patient (4805) was confirmed at an entertainment facility located in Seo-gu, where number 4732 was first confirmed positive on the 22nd.
Preemptive testing was conducted on 30 visitors to the establishment, resulting in 8 positive cases, 15 negative cases, and 7 currently undergoing testing, with results expected by tomorrow morning.
The infection routes for two individuals, numbers 4804 and 4812, have not been confirmed, and health authorities are investigating.
Kim Jong-hyo, Deputy Mayor of Gwangju, urged during an online briefing related to COVID-19, "Please postpone unnecessary gatherings and events, and strictly adhere to basic quarantine rules such as wearing masks and maintaining social distancing."
