Leisure Boater Drifting Off Jeju Coast Rescued... No Casualties Reported
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Around 12:00 PM on the 22nd, a jetboard user who was drifting due to engine failure in the waters off Hyeopjae Beach, Hallim-eup, Jeju City, was safely rescued and transported to Hallim Port.
According to the Jeju Coast Guard on the 23rd, after receiving a report of one surfboard user drifting, the Hallim Police Substation coastal rescue boat was urgently dispatched and arrived at the scene around 12:09 PM.
Upon confirmation, Mr. A (male, in his 20s, from Chungnam), who was drifting about 800 meters from Hyeopjae Beach, was found after the jetboard’s engine suddenly stopped.
The Jeju Coast Guard guided Mr. A, who was drifting, to the left side of the Hallim Police Substation coastal rescue boat around 12:10 PM and rescued him. Since his health and physical condition were good, he was safely transported to Hallim Port.
