[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] Coway is actively expanding its 'water expert' training program.
On the 22nd, according to Coway, the company is strengthening the expertise of its water researchers through an in-house 'Water Sommelier' education program. This program provides systematic education related to water in collaboration with the Korea International Sommelier Association, a specialized sommelier training institution. It also supports obtaining professional Water Sommelier certification.
Recently, Coway conducted the Water Sommelier education program for 15 water researchers belonging to the company's Environmental Technology Research Institute. The 15 researchers acquired professional Water Sommelier certification after completing the specialized training course and passing the first written exam and the second practical exam. Among the 15 researchers, 11 obtained the basic level 3 certification, and 4 obtained level 2, which qualifies them to conduct education related to water taste.
Previously, the company has been conducting the Water Sommelier education program since 2017. A total of 38 researchers have obtained Water Sommelier certification through this program. Among them, 12 have acquired the highest Master level or the expert level 2 certification. Coway holds the largest number of Water Sommelier personnel among domestic companies.
