Suncheon City Finalizes Call Center Name as 'Suncheon 3114 Onnuri Call Center' for Telephone Consultations
Onnuri Call Center Opens in November, Expert Counselors Resolve Various Complaints and Inquiries
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 16th that the name of the telephone consultation call center has been finally decided as ‘Suncheon City 3114 Onnuri Call Center (abbreviated as Onnuri Call Center)’.
Since July, the city held a naming contest for citizens and received a total of 234 proposals. After committee deliberation, online and on-site preference surveys, expert consultations, and internal discussions, the top entry was revised and finalized as the call center’s name.
The finalized name is derived from Suncheon City’s public bicycle service ‘Onnuri Bicycle,’ and it received high marks from citizens for its familiarity, friendly image, and consistency, having been widely used by the public.
‘Suncheon City 3114 Onnuri Call Center’ means a place where counselors (3) listen to each (1) and every (1) story (4). Combining ‘Suncheon’ and ‘Onnuri,’ it signifies a place that listens attentively to the stories of people living in harmony with nature.
The Onnuri Call Center operates with professional counselors who consult and resolve civil complaints, moving away from the previous method of simply transferring calls to the relevant personnel.
Including the center director, a total of 12 counselors are assigned to resolve various questions about city administration.
Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
The city plans to open the Onnuri Call Center in November and is currently building a civil complaint database and setting up the office to prepare for telephone consultations.

A city official stated, “By providing standardized telephone consultation services through professional counselors, citizens will receive a higher level of consultation service, and employees will be able to focus more on their respective duties,” adding, “We will do our best to enhance communication with citizens and increase satisfaction with city administration by performing more creative and professional tasks.”
