According to the county on the 14th, the newly created mural street is a project promoted after being selected for the ‘Clean Jeonnam Best Village Making Project.’ Interested village residents formed a village promotion team in May and, through face-to-face and non-face-to-face meetings, decided to paint murals on the village fence as a one-year project.
From early September, although inexperienced, the villagers gathered to paint warm murals on the dull village fences and added colorful hues to the old pavilion, creating a brighter and more lively village atmosphere.
In addition, through the voluntary participation of the village promotion team and residents, efforts were made to improve the water quality of the stream and the village environment by clearing weeds in the village stream, which was a local cultural heritage of Gangjin-gun, and conducting environmental cleanup activities.

Dongsamin Village will continue the installation of solar lighting along the alleys and the mural painting project, which could not be completed this year, as part of the second-year Best Village project next year.
Park Byung-yong, the village chief, said, “It was a precious and rewarding time to care for the village with my own hands,” and added, “We will do our best to make the village beautiful and a place people want to visit by uniting the residents’ efforts.”
Yoon Young-moon, the head of Byeongyeong-myeon, expressed gratitude to the villagers who actively participated and said, “As this is a three-year project, we will spare no administrative support to establish it as a resident-led project.”
