Naju-si to Operate 'Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Situation Room' from the 18th
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Jeollanam-do Naju City (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 14th that it will operate a comprehensive situation room at the city hall and 20 eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare centers from the 18th to the 22nd during the Chuseok holiday.
The city plans to focus administrative efforts on sector-specific measures including traffic, medical treatment, environment, and safety, including quarantine measures for the holiday period, in accordance with the extended social distancing measures until the 3rd of next month due to the spread of the COVID-19 variant virus.
The comprehensive situation room is composed of 11 teams covering traffic, price stabilization, fuel supply, road restoration, household waste collection, disaster and safety accident response, COVID-19 quarantine response and health/medical care, handling of civil complaints, and livestock infectious disease measures.
The city will establish an emergency medical system to minimize medical gaps in preparation for emergency patients.
During the holiday period, emergency rooms at Naju General Hospital and Bitgaram General Hospital, which are emergency medical institutions, will operate normally, and local hospitals, clinics, and holiday duty pharmacies will be open.
Since operating hours vary by hospital and pharmacy, it is advised to check the Naju City Health Center website in advance or inquire at the emergency medical situation room.
The quarantine authorities will operate screening clinics to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and conduct diagnostic tests during the holiday period.
The health center screening clinic operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the Naju General Hospital screening clinic operates 24 hours with emergency staff deployed for COVID-19 diagnosis and testing.
Any citizen can receive a COVID-19 test regardless of symptoms.
The city will operate integrated civil service counters at city hall and 20 eup/myeon/dong offices from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the holiday period for issuing various certificates and handling civil complaints.
At the integrated civil service counters, residents can obtain resident registration certificates, family relation certificates, etc., and up to 112 types of civil documents can be issued at unmanned civil document issuance machines.
Emergency duty for household waste collection and cleaning task forces will also be operated for a pleasant holiday.
Household waste will be collected on the 20th, 22nd, and 23rd, and food waste will be collected on the 20th and 23rd.
Inquiries and complaints about waste collection can be directed to the city hall cleaning resources department.
With the government's social distancing guidelines extended until the 3rd of next month, the city requests that during the holiday period, visitors to their hometowns complete vaccination or undergo diagnostic testing and visit with the minimum number of people.
It also plans to encourage non-face-to-face greetings and small family or online ancestral rites.
Mayor Kang In-gyu said, “We will do our utmost to ensure that local residents can spend the Chuseok holiday healthily and safely,” and added, “Please comply with quarantine rules for everyone's safety, such as getting vaccinated before visiting your hometown and canceling or postponing visits if you have abnormal symptoms.”
