1204 New COVID-19 Cases Nationwide by 6 PM... 30 Fewer Than Yesterday
[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] As the domestic spread of COVID-19 continues, confirmed cases surged nationwide on the 13th as well.
According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, a total of 1,204 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were recorded nationwide from midnight to 6 p.m. on that day.
This is 30 fewer than the 1,234 cases recorded at the same time the previous day, and 74 fewer compared to the mid-day tally of 1,278 cases last Monday (September 6).
The decrease in testing during the holiday appears to have contributed to the lower number of confirmed cases compared to weekdays.
Looking at the regions where confirmed cases were reported that day, 951 cases (79.0%) were in the metropolitan area, and 253 cases (21.0%) were in non-metropolitan areas.

By city and province, there were 458 cases in Seoul, 391 in Gyeonggi, 102 in Incheon, 50 in Chungnam, 34 in Busan, 25 in Daejeon, 24 in Daegu, 21 each in Gwangju and Gyeongnam, 15 each in Gyeongbuk, Chungbuk, and Gangwon, 12 in Ulsan, 9 in Jeju, 7 in Jeonbuk, and 5 in Sejong.
