Naju-si Holds '2022 New Policy Report Meeting'
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 13th that it recently held the ‘2022 New Policy Report Meeting’ at the city hall’s large conference room, attended by Mayor Kang In-gyu and heads of 33 departments.
At the meeting, among 93 new policies, 64 policy projects selected through evaluation and screening by the relevant departments were presented, followed by in-depth discussions on establishing implementation plans, securing budgets, and preparing measures for supplementation and improvement.
The main discovered policies in the regional development sector included ▲Landscape improvement of Namgomon-ro ▲Opening of urban planning roads linked to Nampyeong Riverside Road ▲Expansion of wide-area water supply facilities in Nampyeong, Gongsan, and Munpyeong districts ▲Activation projects for the Yeongsan Riverside living zone.
Additionally, policies focused on revitalizing the local economy and commercial districts were proposed, such as ▲Support for small business owners’ transition to social enterprises ▲Establishment of management plans for rational operation of aging industrial complexes ▲Support for smart startup starters among young farmers ▲Operation of live commerce for selling agricultural specialty products.
Other distinctive policies in various fields that attracted attention included ▲Installation of tree protection guards along Jungang-ro to create street landscapes ▲Improvement of the Naju Bus Information App linked with the Bus Information System (BIS) ▲Installation of guide signs including translations of plaques inside designated cultural heritage pavilions (rujeong) ▲Production and publication of a white paper documenting the overcoming of the COVID-19 crisis.
Mayor Kang In-gyu said, “Many small but strong living policies that citizens can feel in various fields have been discovered,” and added, “Please meticulously prepare a realistic and concrete implementation roadmap and secure budgets such as national funds so that the discovered projects can be put into action.”
