Comprehensive COVID-19 Testing for All County Residents on September 23-24 After Chuseok Holiday
Indoor Facilities at County-Operated Paid Tourist Sites Closed on Chuseok Day (21st), Outdoor Facilities Open Free of Charge
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun is implementing a comprehensive plan to ensure that residents and visitors returning to their hometowns during the Chuseok holiday can have a safer and more comfortable holiday.
On the 13th, the county announced that considering the high risk of COVID-19 resurgence and new outbreaks during the Chuseok holiday, it will strengthen quarantine measures and establish a thorough medical system to support a worry-free holiday for residents.
During the holiday period, ten task forces will be formed centered on the general control team, covering COVID-19 response, traffic management, price stabilization, disaster and accident response, health care, resolving resident inconveniences, tourism guidance, livestock disease control, and establishment of public service discipline, all operating on emergency duty.
The Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters will conduct emergency duty during the Chuseok holiday, and the health center will ensure no gaps in medical care by operating screening clinics, emergency medical situation rooms, isolation facilities, and designating on-duty medical institutions and pharmacies.
In particular, on Thursday the 23rd and Friday the 24th, after the holiday, in addition to the existing health center screening clinics, 12 additional mobile screening clinics will be set up at locations including Damyang Sports Complex and township health centers, and a full COVID-19 testing campaign will be conducted for all residents.
Thorough measures will also be taken for traffic and price stabilization.
A special transportation countermeasures situation room will manage traffic conditions and safe driving during the holiday, while the price stabilization task force will ensure food safety through supply and price stabilization of essential goods and monitoring of origin labeling.
Additionally, focused collection measures for household waste and convenience measures for visitors to the Gaphyang and Oryong county cemeteries will be implemented, and a water and sewage inconvenience reporting center will operate to minimize daily life inconveniences during the holiday.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and create a safe tourism environment, indoor tourist facilities such as the Korea Bamboo Museum, Korea Gasamunhak Museum, and Eco Center will be closed on Chuseok day, the 21st, while outdoor tourist sites including Juknokwon, Meta Land, Soswaewon, and Gamagol Ecological Park will be open free of charge.
Furthermore, to facilitate smooth traffic and visitor convenience, the public resource sharing system "Gongyu Nuri" will provide location guidance services for 104 public parking lots, 66 public restrooms, and electric vehicle charging facilities.
Moreover, gifts will be delivered to social welfare facilities and low-income households in the area to foster a warm holiday atmosphere of sharing despite the difficult economic situation, and a livestock quarantine countermeasures situation room will be operated to establish a system for rapid initial quarantine measures to block livestock diseases.
