The sponsorship items were prepared by the Mongtan-myeon Community Social Security Council, which received recommendations for recipients from the council members and village chiefs, and delivered the goods to 117 low-income marginalized households in welfare blind spots.
Jang Yong-woo, the private chairman of the council, said, “Although the sponsorship items are small, I am glad to share warmth with neighbors during the autumn Chuseok holiday,” and added, “We will continue to actively participate in sharing activities for the local community.”
Park Seong-ok, head of Mongtan-myeon, expressed gratitude to the council members for preparing the sponsorship items so that marginalized recipients can have a joyful Chuseok during these difficult economic times due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, saying, “We will do our best to actively discover those in need around us and connect welfare resources to prevent residents from falling into welfare blind spots.”
