Ye Han-gu, Director General of Trade Negotiations, Visits U.S.... Discusses Enhancing Bilateral Trade Cooperation
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Yeo Han-gu, Head of the Trade Negotiation Department at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, will visit Washington D.C., USA from the 13th to the 17th (local time) to discuss trade cooperation measures with the United States.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 12th that Head Yeo plans to meet with key figures from the U.S. administration and members of both the House and Senate to discuss trade cooperation measures in areas such as supply chains, technology, vaccines, digital, and climate change.
Head Yeo will begin his visit on the 13th with a Korea-U.S. trade ministerial meeting with Katherine Tai, U.S. Trade Representative (USTR). In particular, together with Lee Hak-young, Chairman of the Industry, Trade, and Small and Medium Venture Business Committee, he plans to meet major senators to actively promote cooperation to strengthen the resilience of supply chains in core industries such as semiconductors and batteries, as well as support activities to provide incentives for Korean companies' investment in the U.S.
