Jo Young-hoon, Chairman of Seoul Jung-gu Council, Participates in the 'World Japanese Military Comfort Women Memorial Day Challenge'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jo Young-hoon, chairman of the Jung-gu Council in Seoul, participated in the World Japanese Military Comfort Women Memorial Day Challenge on the 6th.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the late grandmother Kim Hak-soon’s first testimony as a surviving comfort woman on August 14, 1991. To honor the grandmother’s courage and pain in revealing the painful wounds to disclose the truth, challenges are continuing across various sectors of society.
Jo Young-hoon, chairman of the Jung-gu Council, nominated by Yeo Bong-mu, chairman of the Jongno-gu Council, joined the challenge and said through SNS, “I hope many people remember and empathize with the pain and wounds of those sacrificed in the whirlpool of history, and I expect this challenge to serve as an opportunity to urge national interest and efforts from all sectors of society to clarify historical facts.”
