Muan-gun 'COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund' Application Opens from the 6th
Support of 250,000 KRW per Person for Over 81,000 People
Unused Balance by the End of December Will Be Recovered by the Treasury
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) will begin the payment procedure for the ‘COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund’ to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and revitalize the local economy starting from the 6th.
According to the county on the 2nd, this COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund applies the dual-income and single-person household preferential criteria to the bottom 80% of household income based on health insurance premiums as of last June. Muan-gun has a total of about 81,000 eligible recipients, and if 250,000 KRW is paid per person, the required budget is approximately 20.3 billion KRW.
However, high-net-worth residents with a property tax base amount of 900 million KRW or more and those with financial income exceeding 20 million KRW are excluded from the support target.
Eligibility confirmation can be checked in advance through the National Secretary notification service, and results can be viewed on social networking sites. From the 6th, it can also be checked through the National Health Insurance Corporation, credit/check card companies’ websites, and automated response systems.
As the county expects a surge in applications during the initial implementation, a day-of-the-week system will be applied for the first week, allowing inquiries and applications based on the last digit of the birth year.
Objections can be filed from the 6th to November 12th through the National Sinmungo, New Town Support Group, or the town and township offices. Objection cases will be reviewed by the National Health Insurance Corporation and processed by the county’s Social Welfare Division, which will notify the results.
Those wishing to apply for the support fund can apply online through their credit/check card company’s website or visit banks linked to the card companies directly.
If you want to receive the payment in Muan Sarang Gift Certificates, you can visit the New Town Support Group (Namak, Oryong) or the town and township offices of your address. When applying in person, be sure to bring your ID and power of attorney.
For residents with mobility difficulties who live alone, a visiting application system using the Euddeum Service village system by all staff will also be operated.
The town and township offices in charge of the address will visit applicants individually to verify identity, complete paperwork, and then provide the support fund in Muan Sarang Gift Certificates.
This COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund is based on individual applications rather than household applications, but minors and others can have the head of the household apply on their behalf.
The county plans to actively promote the payment procedures and usage methods, including how to apply and where to use the funds, through media, broadcasts, the county website, Seungdal newsletter, and various meetings. A dedicated phone consultation center will also be operated to help residents conveniently apply for the support fund.
Governor Kim San said, “To revitalize the local economy, we ask that the support fund be used at Muan Sarang Gift Certificate affiliated stores such as traditional markets, neighborhood marts, restaurants, hair salons, and small business operators within the region.” He added, “Unused balances by the end of December will be reclaimed by the national treasury, so please use the support fund wisely to cope smartly with the COVID-19 crisis.”
