'LG Kimchi Refrigerator New Model Released with Barcode Recognition for Customized Fermentation of Packaged Kimchi'
Industry's Only 'AI Customized Storage' Feature Enhanced
Expanded to 9 Packaged Kimchi Varieties from Kimchi Brands like CJ CheilJedang Bibigo, Daesang JonggaJip, Pulmuone
Sequential Release of Total 39 New Products Including 27 Stand-up and 12 Lid-type Starting from the 30th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] LG Electronics announced on the 29th that it will sequentially launch 39 new models of the 'LG DIOS Kimchi Tok Tok' kimchi refrigerators, which find the optimal kimchi storage method, starting from the 30th.
LG Electronics has significantly enhanced the industry's only AI customized storage function available exclusively in the stand-type DIOS Kimchi Tok Tok. After first introducing this feature last year with CJ CheilJedang Bibigo and Daesang Jongga, it has expanded its application to Pulmuone this year. Customers can store nine types of packaged kimchi from Korea's leading kimchi brands with customized storage.
The AI customized storage function does not simply store kimchi at preset temperatures by mode but recognizes the packaged kimchi purchased by the customer and ripens it appropriately at the optimal temperature and time.
For example, when a user scans the barcode on the packaged kimchi with the LG ThinQ application on their smartphone and the kimchi refrigerator recognizes it, they can enter the manufacturing date and select the ripening mode. Then, based on an algorithm for ripening that considers the brand, type, manufacturing date, and other kimchi information, the refrigerator automatically sets the suitable temperature and time for the packaged kimchi.
Considering the increasing trend of kimchi purchases, LG Electronics has been jointly researching algorithms for optimal kimchi ripening with major food companies such as CJ CheilJedang, Daesang, and Pulmuone. They plan to continuously expand the types of packaged kimchi supported by the AI customized storage function.
Customers can also purchase various packaged kimchis with AI customized storage capabilities in a subscription format through the 'LG Store' in the LG ThinQ app.
The new products also inherit the differentiated advantages of existing models. New Probiotic Kimchi+ increases the probiotics that enhance kimchi flavor up to 57 times compared to the general storage mode, keeping kimchi delicious for a long time.
The upper, middle, and lower compartments of the kimchi refrigerator can store not only kimchi but also various ingredients. In particular, LG Electronics has separated the left and right spaces of the upper compartment of the kimchi refrigerator. Each space can have its temperature set, making it easy to separate and store different foods.
The new LG DIOS Kimchi Tok Tok models include 27 stand-type and 12 lid-type models, totaling 39. Capacities range from 128 to 565 liters.
The stand-type kimchi refrigerators are priced between 1.55 million and 3.6 million KRW, and the lid-type between 620,000 and 1.14 million KRW.
