Samsung Electronics announced on the 29th that the cumulative sales of the Bespoke Cooker (from July 28 to August 24) reached 10,113 units. During six live commerce events, the prepared stock was completely sold out.
Sales through the purchase commitment service 'My Cooker Plan,' the first of its kind introduced by Samsung Electronics for home appliances, accounted for about 80% of the total volume. The My Cooker Plan is a service where customers who purchase various groceries monthly above a certain amount with a Samsung Card during the commitment period at eight food companies' official online malls partnered with Samsung Electronics can buy the Bespoke Cooker at a significantly discounted price. This service has received positive responses from subscribers because it allows selection of any products sold at the food companies' online official malls, including not only meal kits and ready meals but also bottled water, instant rice, ramen, canned goods, and sauces.
A Samsung Electronics official introduced, "The secret to the popularity of the Bespoke Cooker is that it allows consumers, who find even cooking meal kits cumbersome, to prepare a delicious and quick meal."
Users highly appreciated the 'Scan Cook' feature, which automatically cooks with a single barcode scan through the 'SmartThings Cooking' application. Satisfaction with the cooking results of 117 Scan Cook-enabled menus and 36 cooker-exclusive products is high, prompting food companies to actively consider expanding the menu.
Ottogi recently launched the cooker-exclusive 'Uno Pizza,' and Fresh Easy plans to add about ten menus to Scan Cook next month, including meal kits featuring famous domestic restaurants such as Jeju Island's renowned meat house 'Heukdonga.'
Shilla Hotel plans to release premium meal kits targeting year-end demand, enabling consumers to easily prepare hotel restaurant-level dishes at home using the cooker.
