[2022 Early Admission] Sejong University, New Regional Balance Major... Simplified Evaluation for Student Records Screening
Sejong University will recruit 1,682 students through early admission, accounting for 61.8% of the total enrollment quota for the 2022 academic year. The features of this year's early admission include the establishment of a new regional balance track in the student record-based curriculum screening, the application of minimum CSAT score requirements for the outstanding student record track, and the simplification of evaluation stages in the comprehensive student record screening.
Among the student record curriculum tracks, the outstanding student record track reflects 100% of the student record curriculum grades and plans to recruit 277 students, which is 125 fewer than last year. The newly established regional balance track this year also reflects 100% of the student record curriculum grades, similar to the outstanding student record track, and will recruit 124 students. The special admissions for Defense Systems Engineering and Aviation Systems Engineering will select 30 and 17 students respectively through early admission. The Defense Systems Engineering and Aviation Systems Engineering special admissions consist of a first stage reflecting 100% of the student record curriculum grades and a second stage composed of the first stage results and an evaluation conducted by the Army and Air Force Headquarters.
To reduce the burden on applicants, minimum CSAT score requirements are not applied in all tracks except for the essay excellence track, outstanding student record track, Defense Systems Engineering special admission, and Aviation Systems Engineering special admission.
The comprehensive student record screening is divided into Creative Talent (527 students), Equal Opportunity (63 students), West Sea 5 Islands Students (3 students), Social Contribution and Consideration (20 students), and Special Admission for Graduates of Specialized High Schools Currently Employed (109 students). The Creative Talent track conducts document evaluation focused on school activities based on submitted documents such as student records and self-introduction letters. Most tracks conduct general interviews, while only the College of Software Convergence conducts in-depth interviews consisting of a topic presentation given on the day and a Q&A session linked to the comprehensive document evaluation.
The method of reflecting student record curriculum grades is as follows: for the humanities field, Korean, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science; for the natural sciences field, Korean, English, Mathematics, and Science; and for the arts and physical education field, Korean and English. All fields assign weights based on the average rank grade.
