Hyundai Construction Equipment Launches Intensive Training Program for 'In-House Safety Experts'
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Hyundai Construction Equipment has launched an intensive program to cultivate 'in-house safety experts.' On the 26th, Hyundai Construction Equipment announced that 47 executives and department heads took the Industrial Safety Engineer written exam held on the 14th under the supervision of the Korea Industrial Human Resources Corporation.
They are all supervisors of organizations including production, quality, development, and field A/S personnel. Hyundai Construction Equipment supported them with study materials necessary for obtaining industrial safety-related certifications and plans to provide additional incentives upon certification acquisition.
Hyundai Construction Equipment plans to continue expanding the number of safety management certificate holders by providing in-house group training and mentoring-based customized coaching for team leaders and deputy team leaders at field sites. The 'in-house safety experts' developed through this program will be responsible for organizational safety at the frontline sites and oversee a series of activities to prevent safety accidents.
Along with this, Hyundai Construction Equipment has designated four subjects?▲ESG ▲Compliance ▲Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence Prevention ▲Safety?as mandatory in-house courses, requiring all employees to complete the related training. Those who fail to complete the training will be completely excluded from promotion and appointment to positions.
These measures are follow-up actions taken after Gong Gi-young, CEO of Hyundai Construction Equipment, strongly ordered in May through a special in-house directive that the company support the acquisition of certifications for essential industrial safety personnel and devise ways to raise internal awareness of the four core trainings.
In fact, CEO Gong is known to habitually emphasize compliance with safety rules in the workplace during various meetings and routine interactions with employees.
Especially in April this year, through a video message at a management status briefing sent to all employees, he reiterated the importance of safety by stating, "I have managed with the belief that if safety collapses, the company collapses," and "Remember that all strategies and plans only have meaning after safety is secured, so let us pay attention even to minor details."
