[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Galleria Department Store announced on the 26th that it will hold the 'Right! EARTH' project, proposing ways to care for and protect the Earth, from the 27th until November 4th.
This project is part of the 'Right! Galleria' campaign that Galleria has been running since 2019. 'Right! Galleria' is a social contribution campaign by Galleria focusing on three main areas?environmental protection, respect for life, and safety culture?to spread a sustainable consumption culture and proper values. In 2019, the campaign raised awareness about the dangers of fine dust through 'Right! Sign,' and last year, it highlighted the risks of marine pollution caused by plastics with 'Right! OCEAN.'
This year's 'Right! EARTH' project is a campaign proposing and practicing ways to cherish and love the Earth, the cradle of humanity. Until November 4th, exhibitions related to the project and pop-up stores selling eco-friendly products will be held at Galleria Gwanggyo in Suwon and Galleria Timeworld in Daejeon.
The project is planned around five keywords starting with each letter of the word 'Right': Re:Born (reusing discarded items), Innovation (innovation for the Earth), Gas goes Green (carbon footprint eraser), Humanimal (a journey of coexistence between humans and nature), and Turn to Nature (returning to nature).
Under these five themes, collaborations with five brands and artists, including Korea's first vegan fashion brand Vegan Tiger and design studio Giljong Sangka using eco-friendly materials, will showcase eco-friendly artworks and pop-up stores conveying the message of loving the Earth.
The vegan fashion brand Vegan Tiger developed patterns and motifs symbolizing respect for life in collaboration with Shin Hyunji, Asia’s first Chanel closing stage fashion model, for this project. Shirts, pants, T-shirts, and hoodies featuring these patterns will be available at pop-up stores held at Galleria Gwanggyo (September 24 to October 7) and Timeworld (October 1 to 21).
Design studio Giljong Sangka will present artworks inspired by renewable energy. The installation art captures daily life and camping sites reflecting the production, consumption, and circulation of eco-friendly alternative energies such as solar, hydro, and wind power. This visually expresses the corporate philosophy of Hanwha Solutions, which is developing renewable energy.
Additionally, diverse collaborative works with brands and artists will be showcased, including furniture made from eggshells, seashells, and expired milk, purification plant packages for carbon reduction, and living accessories using 3D printing technology and biodegradable materials.
From next month on the 1st, the customer participation program 'Right! Credit' will also be launched. This program rewards customers with 'credits' that can be converted into mobile cash (G-Cash) or amounts qualifying for VIP customer selection when they engage in eco-friendly activities. Each eco-friendly action, such as refusing disposable items, using eco-bags, tumblers, or personal containers, earns 50 credits. Up to five times per day can be accumulated. When 100 credits are collected, they can be converted into 100 G-Cash, usable like 100 KRW, or recognized as a 5,000 KRW purchase amount qualifying for VIP customer status. The first VIP tier (Jade) requires a qualifying amount of 5 million KRW.
