SMBA Holds 'Public Procurement Council' to Revitalize Local Public Procurement
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration (Director Jang Daegyo) held the '2021 Regional Public Procurement Council' with participation from local public institutions on the 25th.
Last year, the purchase rate of small and medium enterprise products by local public institutions (legal standard 50%) was 84%, higher than the national average (79.8%).
However, the purchase rate of technology development products was 13.6%, lower than the national average (14.7%), and 34 public institutions failed to meet the legally mandated purchase ratio.
Accordingly, the Small and Medium Business Administration prepared this event to revitalize public procurement of local small and medium enterprise products.
At the council meeting, discussions were held on the operation of the public disclosure system (semiannual) for the purchase performance of small and medium enterprise products by local public institutions, a full survey on public procurement status, production of promotional YouTube videos for public procurement, and collaborative operation of public procurement consultation meetings.
Director Jang of the Small and Medium Business Administration stated, "We will not overlook the difficulties faced by local small and medium enterprises due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and based on this public procurement council, we will actively support the expansion of sales channels for small and medium enterprises through continuous and close collaboration with local public institutions."
