Gwangju Dong-gu Launches Full-Scale 'AI Health Management Service'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Dong-gu, Gwangju (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 25th that it will actively promote the non-face-to-face health management service project called ‘AI·IoT-based Senior Health Management Service.’
In this project, participating seniors will measure their health status daily for six months, and professional staff at the public health center will remotely monitor the seniors’ exercise amount, blood pressure, blood sugar, etc., providing personalized health management services.
Dong-gu plans to recruit 600 seniors aged 65 and over who own smartphones on a first-come, first-served basis to carry out the project.
Seniors wishing to participate can apply by phone to the Visiting Health Department of the Dong-gu Public Health Center. However, those who have been rated 1 to 5 in the long-term care insurance grade for the elderly and mobile healthcare recipients are excluded.
Participating seniors will be provided free of charge with five types of health management devices linked to smartphones, including a wrist-type smart band, blood pressure monitor, blood glucose meter, scale, and AI lifestyle speaker, selected according to health risk factors.
Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, “I hope that seniors who are going through difficult times amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic will benefit from the AI-based non-face-to-face health service,” adding, “We will continue to provide non-face-to-face medical services so that not only vulnerable health groups but also general residents can fully enjoy high-quality health management services.”
