BK Tops "Nspec to Promote Metaverse Virtual Space Construction Project with Seoul City Local Governments"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] BK Tops announced on the 25th that its subsidiary NSPEC is promoting a Mirror World system construction project with Seoul metropolitan government and local governments.
Mirror World is a digital world that reflects real-world information on the internet using three-dimensional computer graphics. It is a form of building a Mirror World system, a metaverse virtual space, by utilizing regional spatial information owned by local governments such as Gangnam-gu and Gangjin-gu. The plan is to implement urban management functions such as urban regeneration, industrial complex management and sales information, resident safety facilities, and vacant house status management within the metaverse space.
As a result, economic activities and transactions such as e-commerce will become possible in the metaverse virtual space. All product transactions, including electronic payments like Zero Pay, will be conducted as if in reality within the virtual space, which is expected to help revitalize local commercial districts. They are also discussing applying programs that utilize subsidies for local governments and small business owners in actual business areas.
Meanwhile, BK Tops declared its entry into the metaverse market by acquiring the game development company NSPEC on the 13th. NSPEC is a company with technology in the metaverse field and has filed a patent for an e-commerce platform that combines metaverse and e-commerce using 3D technology.
BK Tops plans to further enhance the completeness and usability of the platform by metaversing high-precision spatial information such as DEM (Digital Elevation Model) and high-precision road maps promoted by the government as part of the Korean New Deal project.
