Namwon-si Hosts 'Omniscient Smoking Cessation Contest' for Youth Smoking Prevention

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Jeonbuk Namwon City (Mayor Lee Hwan-joo) announced on the 23rd that it will hold the 'Omniscient Smoking Cessation Point Contest' with the theme of preventing youth smoking.

This contest was prepared as a response to social distancing continuing and smokers being included in the high-risk group for COVID-19, turning the COVID crisis into an opportunity for smoking cessation and responding to daily quarantine measures.

The contest category is UCC, and all topics related to smoking prevention and cessation are possible (e.g., ways to refuse cigarettes, methods to prevent secondhand smoke, promotion of non-smoking areas, smoking cessation campaigns, etc.).

The application period is from today until October 1, and any youth in the jurisdiction can participate.

Participants must upload a purely creative video of about 30 seconds to 1 minute on their personal YouTube account and submit an application form including the URL address.

Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form, personal information collection and usage consent form, and submission form from the Namwon City website, filling them out, and sending them via email along with the submission files.

Submitted works will be evaluated based on relevance to the theme, creativity, completeness, and promotional effect, and a total of 18 works will be selected to receive the grand prize, excellence prize, encouragement prize, and honorable mention.

The final announcement will be posted on the website around the end of October and individual notifications will be made.

A city official said, "We hope this will be an opportunity to wisely manage health by practicing a smoke-free life amid the anxiety caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic."
