Hwasun-gun to Hold 'Life Sharing Love Blood Donation Event' on the 19th

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 17th that it will hold a ‘Life-sharing Love Blood Donation Event’ to secure emergency blood on the 19th.

The blood donation event, held in cooperation with the Korean Red Cross Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Center, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the large conference room on the 4th floor of the County Office Council Building and in the mobile blood donation vehicle in front of the Happiness Civil Service Department.

The Korean Red Cross stated that the current blood stock in Gwangju and Jeonnam is sufficient for 3.4 days, which is 68% of the appropriate blood stock level of 5 days.

Due to the spread of COVID-19 and the cancellation or postponement of group blood donations caused by the midsummer heatwave, securing blood is also difficult.

Residents aged 16 to 69 who wish to participate must bring an ID card, and only those who pass the on-site preliminary examination and are deemed suitable for blood donation can donate blood.

The county health center plans to strictly adhere to quarantine rules such as wearing masks, measuring body temperature, installing partitions, and regular disinfection to ensure a safe blood donation event.

A health center official said, “We ask all residents to actively participate in practicing life-sharing and neighborly love to overcome the blood supply crisis.”
