[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The Korea Road Traffic Authority announced on the 14th that it held the '2021 New Driver Drunk Driving Prevention Campaign' at the Seoul Gangnam Driver's License Examination Center for new driver's license holders in collaboration with OB Beer.
The drunk driving prevention campaign has been held annually since 2016 by the Authority and OB Beer to eradicate drunk driving.
At the campaign site, an infographic displaying the current status of drunk driving accidents and prevention methods was installed to inform both participants and visitors of the dangers of drunk driving. Additionally, a virtual reality (VR) drunk driving simulation space was set up to allow participants to directly experience how dangerous drunk driving is.
New driver's license holders visiting the examination center were informed about the risks of drunk driving and were asked to pledge, "If I have had even one drink, I will not get behind the wheel."
Rashinhee, head of the Gangnam Driver's License Examination Center of the Korea Road Traffic Authority, said, "From the moment of obtaining their first license, we will continue activities to eradicate drunk driving so that the traffic safety awareness of 'not driving after even one drink' is firmly established."
