On the same day, after an expert meeting to prepare COVID-19 countermeasures at the 'People's Camp' in Jongno-gu, Seoul, Yoon told reporters, "I urged everyone in the camp never to make remarks that would harm the party's harmony and unity," revealing this.
Earlier, he explained, "As you all know, I entered politics for regime change," adding, "I joined the main opposition party for regime change, and the party's harmony and unity are urgent."
Regarding attendance at the debate planned by the People Power Party's primary preparation committee, he responded, "I will make a decision without delay after considering many candidates who have not yet registered as preliminary candidates, the party's supreme council, and the camp's position."
Meanwhile, on the same day, Yoon held an expert meeting related to COVID-19 prevention. Attendees included Kim Woo-joo, former director of the Korean Society of Infectious Diseases, Kang Jung-gu, president of the Surgical Infection Society, and Park Eun-cheol, professor of preventive medicine at Yonsei University.
Yoon pointed out that the cause of the COVID-19 spread was due to the lack of entry restrictions. He said, "Experts pointed out that there was an issue with entry restrictions last year. Looking at examples like Taiwan and New Zealand, thorough management should have been enforced on people trying to enter from infected areas," adding, "I agree with the opinion that it is important to block infection routes of people entering from areas where the Delta variant is occurring even now." Yoon referred to the virus as the 'Wuhan virus' instead of COVID-19 virus.

He also viewed the failure to block entry from Wuhan, China, where many COVID-19 cases emerged in January last year, as political quarantine. Yoon said, "As far as I know, experts including the Korean Medical Association repeatedly recommended strong control of entry from China during the Lunar New Year," adding, "There was also a Blue House petition, and scientifically, it was a fully reasonable argument, so wasn't the mistake made from there? The fact that it was not based on science is political."
