[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 12th that it held a bricklaying completion unveiling ceremony at the Hill of Unification Wishes within the Independence Hall as part of the ‘Daehan-i Salatda’ campaign.
The Daehan-i Salatda campaign is a project that KB Kookmin Bank has been continuously promoting since 2019. The campaign began by publicly releasing audio tracks and commemorative videos with newly composed melodies for the prison songs of Yu Gwan-sun and six female independence activists who were imprisoned together in Cell 8 of Yeoksa at Seodaemun Prison immediately after the March 1st Movement.
The sculpture at the Hill of Unification Wishes was created using over 9,000 bricks collected from about 6,500 citizens who signed up for the ‘Daehan-i Salatda Passbook’ launched last year and participated in the event.
Along with this, KB Kookmin Bank released a commemorative video of the Daehan-i Salatda campaign on the bank’s official YouTube channel upon completion. The video was produced together with Seo Kyung-duk, a professor at Sungshin Women’s University and the campaign’s ambassador, and includes the contents of the Daehan-i Salatda campaign over the past three years and the completion of the bricklaying at the Hill of Unification Wishes.
On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of Liberation Day on August 15, KB Kookmin Bank will also donate 50 million KRW to support descendants of independence activists who sacrificed for the country and are currently facing financial difficulties. The donation will be provided to ten households of independence activists’ descendants who are economically disadvantaged, including basic livelihood security recipients.
