POSCO Showcases Eco-Friendly Building Materials at Architecture Expo
- Participation in the Largest Domestic Architecture Expo at COEX from the 12th to the 15th
- Expectation to Enhance Understanding of Structural Materials and Increase Awareness of Innovilt Products through Experiential Content
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] POSCO Group (Chairman Choi Jeong-woo) announced on the 11th that it will participate in the Korea Build Architecture Expo held at COEX, Seoul, from the 12th (Thursday) to the 15th (Sunday) for four days, showcasing its INNOVILT products under the theme of eco-friendly safety.
Korea Build started in 1986 and has continued for 35 years, attracting an average of 100,000 visitors annually, making it the largest architecture expo in Korea.
POSCO, together with its steel material customers such as International Ester and Daehan Scaffolding Industry, as well as group affiliates including POSCO Engineering & Construction and POSCO Steel Sheet, will open the INNOVILT Pavilion under the theme "Clean and Safe Construction with Eco-friendly Steel Products," introducing steel material products and solutions that reduce carbon emissions and offer safety compared to traditional building materials such as stone, wood, and aluminum.
The INNOVILT Pavilion is composed of six zones: ▲INNOVILT World ▲Eco-friendly ▲Safety ▲Smart Housing Platform ▲Co-prosperity ▲Story, filled with UX (User Experience)-type content allowing visitors to see, touch, and feel the exhibits directly.
At the entrance of the exhibition hall, INNOVILT World showcases how POSCO Group’s premium steel materials are used in various buildings, transportation, and infrastructure such as water and sewage systems at a glance.
The Eco-friendly Zone introduces hollow rebar, composite beams, solar power generation supports, and PosMAC Barrier, an eco-friendly street tree growth solution. In particular, the hollow rebar recently developed by POSCO using high-strength steel weighs nearly half compared to conventional deformed rebars, enabling shortened construction periods and carbon reduction through improved workability.
In the Safety Zone, visitors can see PosMAC guardrails, high-strength scaffolding materials, stainless steel water supply pipes, reservoir linings, and water tanks used to build safe living environments for people, including traffic infrastructure safety, user safety, construction worker safety, and clean water supply.
The Smart Housing Platform Zone introduces eco-friendly modular products. Modular construction is an innovative building method where 90% of the work is completed in the factory, allowing safe installation on-site without noise or dust, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by more than 20% compared to conventional concrete construction.
