Kakao Pay Credit Card and Schedule Kit Win 'Red Dot Design Award'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Kakao Pay announced on the 11th that Kakao Pay Credit Card (PLCC) and Schedule Kit won the 'Winner' award in the 'Brand & Communication Design' category at the '2021 Red Dot Design Award.'
The Kakao Pay Credit Card features a design utilizing the full front face of the Kakao character Niniz, applying special ink to realize the character's unique fine texture. It goes beyond simply differentiating the external design; when the issued card is registered and used within the Kakao Pay service, the Niniz character moves on the screen inside the mobile app.
According to Kakao Pay, the judging panel highly evaluated the approach to accelerating a wallet-less world by expanding the UX from plate design to mobile in this competition.
The Schedule Kit, a souvenir produced annually by Kakao Pay, consists of four items: a calendar, notebook, highlighter, and deco cards. The package containing these items is made as a pouch for reuse.
